About Me

I'm a computational astrophysicist, and recently received my PhD in astronomy & astrophysics from Harvard University. In addition to research, I am heavily invested in science communication and education: I'm the Treasurer of the Communicating Science National Workshop Leadership Team, was an author for the Astrobites astronomy blog, and volunteer in a variety of mentoring and tutoring programs. During my free time I enjoy running, baking, and leading a D&D campaign for a group of friends in the Astronomy department.

My research focuses on modelling galaxies to learn more about how they formed and evolved. To do this, I leverage the incredible computing power available in modern GPUs (just like the graphics card in your laptop!) to create simulated images of galaxies as the Hubble Space Telescope would see them. Our goal is to extract new information from already-available data, and learn about the history of our nearest neighbor galaxies.

I recently accepted a position in quantitative finance. I will be beginning as a Junior Quantitative Researcher at Akuna Capital in August 2019.
